I rented a property between 2016-2018 in the west end through Morna Petrano who always showed a special level of personal care and response. Her staff were always responsive and helpful. I would always recommend her for anyone looking for reliable and professional leasing agent in Aberdeen.
Hands down the worst renting company ever. While I rented from them all was going well until 4 months in my boiler broke down on New years eve, I called and a plumber came rushing out (I'm sure to cash in on the double time no doubt) and solved the problem but told me the boiler was very old and would need replacing soon.However it broke down again the very next day, someone came out to fix it, broke down again. This happened for a week and to be fair they did come out and temporary fix it every day for that week, however finally the last plumber had enough gumption to realise the boiler was shot and needed replaced (Glad I didn't foot the plumber bill) I called and spoke with Liam who told me they would contact the landlady and get a new boiler asap. I called every day for two weeks and was told by Liam mostly, the landlady hadn't gotten back to them. So I said Ok and what are you going to do in the mean time? Bear in mind this is January with no heating at all for two weeks. Every time I called I was fobbed off and Morna herself answered a few times, told me she'd call back and never did. Finally after three weeks and a threat to go to the citizens advice I got a new boiler placed, the landlady never did reply apparently. Never trusted them again after that. When I moved out I was ecstatic to hand over the keys (after giving notice of leaving for 4 months!) of course they ripped me off with the cleaning bill but that's to be expected by these crooks despite hours of cleaning. Then the final icing on the cake was the deposit, every time I called to ask about the deposit I was fobbed off again. Finally, same story I threatened to go to citizens advice if they wouldn't give me advice on how to return my money (I had never used Deposit Scotland before so wasn't sure how to request funds back) they finally responded and I got my money back. Honestly please avoid at all costs. Morna is a horrible person and her team aren't much better, they have no idea what they're doing and have absolutely no compassion. I've never had any issues with landlords/letting agencies until I came across this horrible company.
Wonderful, personal service from Morna Petrano. The team arranged for me to see several properties in one morning (something other agencies do not offer) and Morna even drove me around the city as well as taking me back to the station to catch the train home! She really went the extra mile to find me a flat which I'd feel at home in. The process has been swift and stress-free. Thank you Morna Petrano!
There is a real lack of communication between staff members here. It started off really good for the first couple of months. However, after having an issue where someone from the team entered the flat without my knowledge, communication became very patronising and I was essentially blamed for feeling unsafe because I 'could have called the emergency number'. Ah yes, that EMERGENCY number advertised as 9-5 on the website! How could I have thought to call that at 10pm!?A member thought I had 'moved out' (even though I hadn't returned the keys!?). After sending so many emails for information I was rightly entitled to, I would be ignored and nobody would take the time to let me know they couldn't (or rather didn't want to) answer my questions. They're very interested in covering their backs as opposed to making sure their customers actually feel safe.Wouldn't recommend.
Do yourself a massive favour and avoid at all costs! Morna is nothing but a trumped up bully and compulsive liar, she is just OTT aggressive and abusive if you voice any complaint or even if she is just having a bad day. You can literally stand there calmly and speaking normally and she will get right up in your face shouting and asking you to take a swing. Do not expect any prompt assistance either if you need help with a flat issue. Morna Petrano is the worst REA I have ever encountered and the only REA I have ever had issues with. Look around for non cherry picked or friend reviews and you will see I am not alone in these thoughts, the reviews are easy to find. The level of bad service you will encounter here can only be described as haunting.
