Wouldnt even give them 1 star.Staff are unprofessional, passive aggressive, disinterested and completely unreasonable. Although I left the apartment in a much better quality than I was given it, APL tried to take my full deposit because of damage a former tenant had left, tried to charge me for professional cleaning for the sake of a stray hair on the floor and tried to charge me to repaint and recarpet their apartment.Literally go with any other leasing agency, dont waste your time, money or sanity on APL.
Even 1 star is way too much!For a year we kept the flat clean and tidy, it was getting inspected every 3 months, they never found anything wrong. When I got my report back I was shocked . They found invisible dust, marks on electricals we not used as we had ours or one single hair! They complained about absolutely everything, things like we never even noticed (marks inside cupboards etc)Stay away from this agency if you can.
As promised, I'm writing another review based on my deposit return. Even though I hired a cleaning company, I was charged for basically dusting. The other charges were things that I know I damaged, so no big deal. I was unable to stay behind and check behind the cleaning company, and dust is hard to photograph. That said, I'm relieved. The way this company has been vilified online doesn't reflect my own experience. My hairdresser rented with APL and got all of her deposit back. They are nit picky, but the manager of my cleaning company said it's not just APL, that they're all like that. I had a huge deposit at stake, so I was terrified. I feel like under the circumstances, I'm getting out ok. Catherine was great in answering my questions regarding my deposit. She was polite, and fast. I have to say that all things considered, I would rent from APL again without hesitation.

After thoroughly cleaning the flat to what I would say was definitely a higher standard than we were given it (this is not to say cleanliness was bad but was definitely average), we got an email to say we were being charged 300 for cleaning. (This was only for cleaning as we were charged even more for other minor things). Listed under what needed cleaning were ridiculous things such as water in mop bucket (literally a dribble), and to quote Aberdeen Property Leasing exactly 'minor dust on lamp.' Was literally shocked when we received the email. Cannot imagine any cleaning would be worth 300 never mind the petty things that they charged us for. Wish I had taken more pictures of the minor cleanliness issues when we moved in as I could have been just as petty back. Wish I had read the reviews before dealing with them as clearly this is their standard behaviour. I advise that you keep well clear of Aberdeen Property Leasing!!
I have to give 1 star just because 0 is not an option. They are good until it time to leave then you can say goodbye to your deposit. For 2 years I kept the flat clean and tidy, it was getting inspected every 3 months, they never found anything wrong. However at the end of the tenancy, after spending a whole week cleaning, and painting to make the flat as it was when I entered. Surprise surprise, they found the property dusty, according to them it did required professional cleaning. This cost me 150 off from the deposit, they charged 16+VAT per hour for dusting the skirting board, they charged to put item in the bin i.e. empty shampoo bottle left in the bathroom by accident. They complained and charged for residue left in the sink from all the cleaning I had done beforehand. Charged me for paint that had cracked on the outside window ledge as well as a spoon left on the draining board. Now these things would literally have taken minutes to dispose of and some of this is general wear and tear. I am really disappointed as this flat did not require 7 hours cleaning especially at 16 plus VAT an hour. I had the carpet professional cleaned, the sofa polished etc. Beware they will find anything wrong so they can take money from your deposit unfairly. Stay away from this agency if you can.
