Great views, good paths and lots of dogs.
Plenty dog-walking paths here, from short and simple, to long and varied.
Great place for walking dogs. Lovely and scenic. Was also very quiet when me and my dogs visited which was very good for my reactive dog.
Great place to walk dogs, jog and cycle. There are a couple of bins at the start of the paths from the car park and a couple around the outside of the area where there are paths leading in. There is a range of wildlife including deer, rabbits, heron and frogs. Be careful if you have dogs off the lead. It can be very busy with dog walkers around lunchtime. The paths are good for cycling and jogging. Behind the woods there are more paths which are great for cycling (less busy, slightly more steep and slightly rocky in places which is good) and there are dirt bike tracks. They can also be used for cycling. Unfortunately some irresponsible dog owners are leaving dog mess on and very near paths. Hopefully this will improve with some further signs and people being aware.
Scotstown Moor is a great place for a short walk on a sunny day. The paths are well maintained (though there are a few muddy bits here and there) and the terrain is gentle. You'll likely see several dog walkers and joggers during your visit, as this place is surrounded by residential housing and has a decent car park, making it a popular choice. There are several abandoned structures dotted around, and if you follow the paths up north past the farm and a ruined structure, you will reach an awesome spot with good views to the north. If you head west from the car park and cross the road, you'll find a gate leading to a wooded area and some more paths (though these are not really a part of the nature reserve).Overall, it's a good place if you're planning a short walk (0.5 to 1.5 hours), but those seeking a more adventurous or longer walk will probably want to look elsewhere.
