I stayed in this hotel overnight earlier this month in Room 335.I noticed in the evening quite a lot of banging and thumping, but assumed I was situated over a loading bay, the sound was quite like a skip banging being loaded/unloaded.The noise stopped around 9pm and hence I was no longer concerned until the next morning.I was awoken at 5.45 by the entire room shaking like someone was pounding on the door. The massive thumping and crashes continued.Having gone to sleep at 11pm I was utterly exhausted and, having work commitments the next day not at all impressed.Upon check out I attempted to complain however the individual behind the desk repeatedly just kept saying "I am sorry about the noise - it was the Gym... we get that a lot".When I asked whether a manager was available I was told there wasn't any manager until 10am and to call the hotel then to complain. Alas, I called at 10am but was put through to a call centre, who logged my complaint and assured me the hotel would be in touch.Fast forward the next day... still no call and I phoned the hotel and was passed to a Manager. However, the individual concerned claimed to only be the events and functions manager and said I would have to call again to speak to a "Hannah" as they did not deal with desk complaints.Still no phone call, so I called again and spoke to Hannah the next night, who said she too could not help me, and I had to wait to speak to the General Manager John who would call me back ASAP. Again, she apologised for the noise and said it was a very frequent complaint due to the Gym which shakes the entire building. This is now Saturday and still no call from John- utterly appalling service and I have been left ignored.Having stayed at this hotel previously with no issue it is very disappointing that a loyal customer would be treated so poorly - this place makes Faulty Towers look like a model of perfection.I will never, ever stay here again and have made sure to tell everyone I know of my experience to warn them off. Additionally, I have informed my employer who has blacklisted the hotel for any future bookings.Shame on you Village Hotel - hiding from complaints isn't the way to address them....

Food was excellent, swimming and steam roomnvery reasonably priced for a day pass.

I stayed here for just over a week. The rooms are lovely but I found the restaurant to be no better than adequate. If you are looking to stay for one or two nights I'm sure you won't be disappointed but for myself staying for seven nights I found the menu limited.

Really nice hotel, nice rooms, great views and nice environment. Food is nice and very friendly staff. The only drawback for me is the fact that there no shuttle service to/from the airport.

Not the best stay weve had this year, which is a real shame as weve stayed here a few times this year.the sheet was stained on bed in original room and we were moved to another room so no complaints there except it was right next to gym so were up early listening to a personal trainer ,who I must say was intense by the sounds of it ,at 5.45 which would have been fine if we were going to work but we were on a relaxing break so not sure we will be back here anytime soon also coffee was cold at breakfast again
